At Access TeleCare, our specialists are setting the standard for telemedicine excellence, all while continuing to lead groundbreaking research to improve patient care and outcomes.
One of our teleNeurologists, Dr. Amrou Sarraj, a recognized leader in stroke research and neurology, for example, has been instrumental in shaping the international conversation on improving outcomes in acute stroke care.
On the Neurology Journals Podcast, Dr. Sarraj joined Dr. Andy Southerland to discuss the impact of anesthesia on stroke patient outcomes. Their discussion emphasized the importance of understanding how anesthesia choices influence recovery trajectories, clinical practice, and future research directions in stroke treatment.

At the World Stroke Congress, Dr. Sarraj also presented new findings from the ATLAS trial, advancing understanding of endovascular therapy (EVT) for large core stroke. The data highlighted several key insights:
EVT demonstrates benefit in both early and late treatment windows.
EVT shows benefit for ASPECTS 0–2 and 3–5 in the early window.
EVT does not show benefit for ASPECTS 0–2 in the late window.
EVT provides benefit up to core volumes of 149 ml across both windows.
Dr. Sarraj’s work continues to refine clinical decision-making in stroke care, ensuring that evidence-based insights drive better outcomes for patients worldwide.
