Access TeleCare’s chief of clinical quality, Elaine Jones, M.D., FAAN, has received the 2023 President’s Award from the American Academy of Neurology for her excellent service to patients and the field of neurology.

“I am extremely honored to receive this year’s AAN President’s Award,” said Dr. Jones. “I am grateful to the Academy for supporting me and allowing me to get involved in the advancement of neurology both in the U.S. and abroad.”

Dr. Jones is the chief of clinical quality for Access TeleCare’s teleNeurology team bringing world-class neurological care to hospitals with neurologist shortages and coverage gaps. Her work helps normalize neurological care in underserved communities and gives hospitals the ability to see more patients with complex neurological care needs rather than transfer them to larger facilities.

“We are incredibly proud of Dr. Jones and her steadfast advocacy for neurology patients and the neurology field itself,” said Access TeleCare’s chief of neurology, Dr. Annie Tsui. “Dr. Jones embodies our values of excellence, tenacity, empathy, integrity, creativity, and agility and we are beyond delighted to see her receive this honor.”

Jones has been a member of AAN for 27 years, where she chaired the Government Relations Committee, led the Gender Disparity Task Force, and served on several subcommittees, as well as the board of directors. In addition to her work in the U.S., she has helped develop a network of neurologists who travel to Haiti to train local doctors to care for patients with neurological care needs.

The President’s Award is given by the American Academy of Neurology president for outstanding service to the American Academy of Neurology and the profession of neurology. Read more about Dr. Jones and her award here.
