Access TeleCare, the largest national provider of acute specialty telemedicine for health systems nationwide, today announced the appointment of Dr. Blake Porter to Chief of Maternal-Fetal Medicine and the promotion of Lauren Ingram to Chief of Advanced Practice Providers. The physician-led company continues to expand its leadership based on the evolving needs of patients, communities, and hospitals across the country.

“Our team is resolute in our mission to improve patient lives through timely access to specialty providers,” said Chris Gallagher, M.D., CEO of Access TeleCare. “With Dr. Blake Porter as the new chief of Maternal-Fetal Medicine and the advancement of Lauren Ingram, MSN, MS, APRN, FNP-C to the chief of advanced practice providers, we are continuing to advance our ability to deliver high-quality specialty care across the country in new and innovative ways.”

In addition to his role at Access TeleCare, Dr. Porter is a Clinical Associate Professor of Maternal-Fetal Medicine at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. Previously, he was the Medical Director at the Prenatal Diagnostic Center at Oklahoma’s OU Health. He has won multiple teaching awards, including Outstanding Faculty Teacher and the APGO Excellence in Teaching Award.

“More than 5.6 million women live in counties with no or limited access to maternity care services,” said Dr. Porter, an Oklahoma native familiar with the challenges facing underserved, rural communities. “Where someone lives should not dictate whether they receive quality healthcare. I’m passionate about expanding the footprint of maternal-fetal medicine to ensure patients receive consistent, clinically excellent care regardless of zip code and at Access TeleCare we are making real, tangible progress towards that goal.”

Ingram agrees. Her goal is to enhance the quality of local care via telemedicine with her team of advanced practice providers who closely collaborate with physicians and on-site care teams to serve more patients in need.

“Every patient deserves timely access to the best care, and in many cases enabling virtual access to advanced practice providers is the best solution,” said Ingram. “At Access TeleCare we have a team of incredible providers that bring a bastion of experience to our clinical programs, working closely with our physicians, regional medical directors, and on-site care teams to radically impact lives and help keep hospitals’ doors open. It’s an honor to be a part of this team that is reimagining the care experience.”
