Access TeleCare Earns CHQI Accreditation for Telemedicine

RESTON, Va. – Jan 7, 2019 –  Access TeleCare, the leader in acute care telemedicine, is proud to announce it has earned ClearHealth Quality InstituteTM (CHQI) accreditation for telemedicine. CHQI is an independent health care accrediting body that offers the only telemedicine or telehealth accreditation program backed by the American Telemedicine Association (ATA). Access TeleCare adds this recognition in high quality standards to their existing longstanding accreditation by The Joint Commission.

By achieving this status, Access TeleCare demonstrates to consumers, the medical community, regulators and other stakeholders that its telemedicine policies, programs, and processes meet the clinical, legal, technology, and administrative standards set forth by CHQI to advance safety and quality.

“It is an honor to be recognized for the next-level telemedicine standards under which we operate, further confirmation of Access TeleCare’s commitment to quality and safety,” notes Hammad Shah, Former CEO of Access TeleCare. “The CHQI Telemedicine Accreditation Program provides a new level of credibility to the provider-to-provider segment of the telemedicine industry.”

“As a CHQI accredited organization for telemedicine, Access TeleCare represents a new standard of quality in the delivery of telemedicine in our country,” said Garry Carneal, J.D., M.A., Founder, ClearHealth Quality Institute. “By completing the CHQI Telemedicine Accreditation Program’s application and demonstration process, Access TeleCare took part in a substantive assessment process through which it received meaningful, constructive feedback to improve operations. Access TeleCare has taken the important steps necessary to promote access to safe, quality, and competent health care.”

“Given the explosive growth of telehealth, it is crucial, now more than ever, to have a nationally-recognized seal of approval specifically for an organization’s telemedicine services,” said Michael Gomes, Chief Executive Officer, ClearHealth Quality Institute. “The CHQI Telemedicine Accreditation Program seal fills that void and brings a much-needed level of vetted credibility to telehealth.”
