Healthcare is often shaped by tradition — looking back at what has worked before. But Access TeleCare CFO Andy Garlington believes the real opportunity lies in looking forward.

“You’ve got a rearview mirror, and you’ve got a windshield,” Garlington says. “Access TeleCare is the windshield. It’s looking ahead, and it’s so much larger than the rearview mirror. We look back so much in healthcare at what worked well in the past. And that is important. But we need to be figuring out how to leverage technology, a limited amount of resources and providers, and some vision to see how we can make healthcare better in the future.”

In a recent profile, Andy shares his journey from hospital finance to leading the strategy that supports more than 20 percent of U.S. hospitals today. His approach — humility, vision, and a focus on underserved communities — reflects the mission of Access TeleCare to deliver timely, high-quality specialty care where it’s needed most.
